A New Millennium |
| We
are approaching a
new millennium, moving into a
period of time in which
spiritual forces are going to be more readily available in contrast
to the past two thousand years. In order
to benefit from those
spiritual forces, we must be prepared. |
| Dr.
Rudolf Steiner in
his lectures to farmers
in 1924 said it in simple
words: "heal the soil.” Dr
.Steiner then explained a form
of agriculture that would have the effect of harnessing spiritual forces
to draw humankind out of the sea of confusion in which most are immersed |
| Now,
after 70 years of relying on chemicals in nearly every aspect of our
lives, we are in desperate need of healing ourselves and the earth. |
| This
is what
the "Spiritual Food for the New Millennium" project is about
- healing the earth and healing ourselves through a commitment
to give our families and ourselves real nutrition by supporting the
farmers and gardeners who practice spiritual farming. |
| In
1924, farmers and soil scientists inspired by Rudolf Steiner chose not to
follow the world into the widely promoted "chemical future."
Even then there was noticeable degradation in quality of soil,
seed, plant and animals. This world-wide non-chemical agriculture movement
pre-dates "organics" by two decades. But, spiritual
farming is about more than avoiding chemicals. |
| Growers
seek to improve the health and vitality of soil, plants and animals
through working with the health-bearing forces of nature. Their principle
is that if the soil is healthy seeds will bring forth plants which are
true to their own unique nature and have more life-giving vitality to
offer animals and humans. |
| We
are inspired by the belief that Sattwic Organic food nourishes the body
and the human spirit and that this food should be made available to as
many people as possible. Parts of this project are the mail order service,
community supported agriculture, and indirectly spiritual farms. |
| In
offering this service, we
do not approach it as a commercially
oriented operation. It is a
truly spiritual, self-less action honoring and linking the interaction
of farmers and consumers. The food
is mailed from the farm or our center of distribution directly to your door. |
